Aims of the Society

The Dartmouth and Kingswear Society is dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the historic town of Dartmouth and the villages of Kingswear, Blackawton, Dittisham, Stoke Fleming and Strete, the River Dart and the neighbouring coastline and countryside of the county of Devon, UK.

The concerns of the Society include the conservation of both the architecture and form of the built environment and the natural beauty of the district together with the maintenance of a viable local economy in keeping with the character and history of the area.

Non-members are welcome to attend The Flavel talks for a ‘donation’ of £5 or pay £7 to become a member. Use Contact Us to send a committee member a message. Choose a recipient.

Death of Eric Preston.

Eric Preston, D&K Chairman 2000-2003 Eric’s son has been in touch to say that Eric died peacefully in hospital on 7th December 2024. Eric served on the D&K Committee for many years before moving away to Bath to be near family.

WINTER WARMER LUNCH 12 noon for 12.30 p.m. Tuesday, 18th February 2025 Stoke Lodge Hotel, Stoke Fleming

We hope you will be able to join us for our Winter Warmer Lunch at Stoke Lodge Hotel on 18th February 2025. As many of you will know, this is such a welcoming hotel with plenty of parking. Drinks, including wine for the table, are not included in the ticket price and can be bought from the bar beforehand. At the moment I am not sure of the seating configuration, but there will be a seating plan. On the form below please give names of preferred seating companions and I will make sure you are together.
